The newly expanded State Theatre is open. The stunning interior embodies the
art deco era of its origin and has marvelous vintage looking seats from
Grauman's Chinese Theater. It seats 340 patrons, has a stage 40 ft wide by 26 ft deep, a movie screen and a state of the art sound system.
Thanks to You for Making History - Tear Down the Wall and Bringing Up the Arts has been a success!
Arts Build Community! The foothills are alive with the sounds of music and laughter this holiday season. Over the past fourteen months the commitment and generosity of individuals, community service organizations, civic leaders and local government have made the dream of an expanded historic State Theatre a reality. Your attendance at events and generous donations has made the transformation possible. Since reopening on October 16, 2014 nearly 4000 patrons already have enjoyed music, movies and musical theatre at the beautifully expanded venue. This fact represents a triumph of leadership by the Board of Directors and hard-working volunteers in the APPAC organization. This commitment and generosity is time and money well spent; a turning point for the arts, tourism and local business in the surrounding area. Thank you for your enthusiastic belief in the State Theatre and your ongoing participation in this vital community treasure. Please join your friends and neighbors in supporting the successful operation of the State Theatre by making a sustaining contribution to the non-profit organization, Auburn Placer Performing Arts Center (APPAC).
Happy Holidays to you and your families.

On Stage At The State presents
Steve Seskin, Don Henry & Craig Carothers
Saturday, January 17, 2015 - 7:30 pm
Do not miss these three good friends – top songwriters all – bring their extensive songbooks to the State Theatre for an "in-the-round" evening of hilarious stories and wonderful music. The trio of Seskin, Carothers and Henry brings a return favorite evening at the expanded State Theatre. Steve Seskin has enjoyed tremendous success in Nashville, with a boatload of songs recorded by Tim McGraw, Neal McCoy, John Michael Montgomery, Kenny Chesney, Collin Raye, Peter Frampton, Waylon Jennings, Alabama, Mark Wills, and Peter, Paul and Mary. Craig Carothers' latest album is called The Vagabond, which seems like a good title for a man who’s driven more than 80,000 miles the past few years performing all over the country. The L.A. Reader calls Don Henry “a piercingly insightful songwriter who uses irony like a scalpel.” Don’s songs have been recorded by legends like Ray Charles, Patti Page, and Conway Twitty, as well as by Blake Shelton, Lonestar, and Jimmy Wayne. He won a Grammy for Kathy Mattea’s version of “Where’ve You Been” as well as Song of the Year honors from the Academy of Country Music, the Country Music Association, and the Nashville Songwriters Association International. He’s shared the stage with a vast array of artists from Keith Urban to Joey Ramone. His songs tend to be both funny and thought-provoking, and he sings them with great tenderness and humor. He and Craig have a new album, 2-FBYCR (two if by car), and if we’re lucky, we’ll get to hear a taste of this night!
